Welcome aboard Cate Collins!
Guest Scientist to accompany Arctic Expedition
With the upcoming Expedition season quickly approaching, Gold Star Canadian Tours is incredibly excited to welcome Cate Collins to our Expedition Team. Cate is the guest Scientist aboard the 2023 Expeditions and will provide an evidence-based perspective on Polar Bears and their natural environment.
“Seeing a polar bear is unforgettable, and it can be even more impactful with a deeper understanding of the factors at play in the Arctic ecosystem,” says Joshua Gale, president of Gold Star Canadian Tours.
Since 2017, Cate has been a Staff Scientist at Telus World of Science – Edmonton, the largest science center in Western Canada attracting over half a million visitors annually. Cate holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Science from the University of Toronto.
“Canada’s north is an incredibly complex region, with Polar Bears playing an important role as apex predators,” says Cate. “Our Expeditions are an amazing opportunity to learn about Polar Bears and the world we share with them.”
Expedition guests will have the opportunity to engage with Cate throughout the Expedition and can expect to learn about Polar Bear biology, habitat and the latest research and findings.
